Corey and I had our anniversary date last night. He so knows how to treat me right. We used to go to bars and every other type venue to pretty much see any band we ever heard of. Over the years I kinda grew tired of this. With our crowd it ended up always being a situation where you HAD to be up front, you HAD to meet the band, you had to get great photos, blah blah blah. It became more stressful than fun for me. Pretty strange, right? Plus, I don’t much care for standing for hours on end.
But, I still go to clubs occasionally, if it is someone I really like, one of Corey’s bands, or sometimes if we are friends with whoever is playing. When I found out the Supersuckers were playing, I was kind of undecided. I REALLY wanted to go, but I was afraid it would be a rough crowd. I also don’t like getting pushed, shoved, or pelted with bits of fish. And since the people who would come to this show would be the same people that go to the spitfire, this was a real possibility.
Corey and Trish both assured me that the Jigsaw doesn’t really get too rough, at least not when they were there. Still, I was undecided. especially since I haven’t been feeling well lately. But just 2 days before the show Corey found out that it was nearly sold out. So, even though he knew we might not go, he still bought tickets. He even got a ticket for his buddy. And since I rested all day yesterday I was up to going.
I LOVE this band. they are just so good. And how can you not love a guy named Eddie Spaghetti? Seriously. And he uses words like imperitive, preamble and prologue in his stage banter. I was in heaven. Plus he thinks encore’s are disrespectful to the crowd and did a fake one. I love it! So, when presented withthe opportunity to say hi after the show I went on over, had him sign a sticker and got a picture. Fogive the blurry, but I didn’t bring a camera.

And since this is a music post I would be remiss in leaving out the fact that Corey is losing his mind right now. Tracey, I am pretty sure we will be seeing you in Chicago for this….
