relaxing weekend June 29, 2008
I managed to get in lots of movies this weeekend: Mean Girls, Idiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Dial M For Murder, Men In Black, and the Fugitive. Wow! I also finished reading “You’ve Got Murder” and started “Click Here for Murder” by Donna Andrews. That is what I call an ideal weekend.
I snapped a few photos too. The fab Grungedandy sent me a gorgeous package this week filled wiht lots of goodies.
I hope the photos show up when this is posted.
I scrapped too. But since my photos are acting funny, I will post later. =)
feast your eyes June 25, 2008
I am not sure why this blog wasn’t in my blogroll – I have been visiting it for ages. I just love all the gorgeous imagery – I am always inspired after a visit. And not only is it a visual feast, but Mary Ann is a writer I enjoy reading. This is everything a good blog should be.
Particularly, look at this post. I bet this will inspire Kathryn (not real sure why) and I cant wait to see how she uses this idea.
When mom and I went to the Vatican Splendor exhibit recently, I remembered to take photos of the things I enjoyed looking at as we walked down the driveway. Someday I will edit these, but anyway, here are a few images that caught my fancy that day.
Tomorrow I have a prenatal screening. This is a precursor to getting “that stich” put in. Ick. But it will help me rest easy.
Other things on my agenda for tomorrow are answering emails piling up in my inbox, sharing with you the yummy mail I got this week (thanks g*!), and finally playing rock band with my hubby. Which means it is pretty much bedtime for me now. Good Night!
a lot like love June 21, 2008
I just love this movie. I saw it by accident, actually. Corey gave me passes to a sneak preview of… Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy maybe? Anyway, Laurie and I got there really late and the line was so long we couldn’t get in. The theater manager was feeling generous and let the stragglers so see another movie for free. I have never been an Ashton Kutcher fan, but we decided to see this movie. And I loved it.
I just want to buy some stuff June 20, 2008
Shopping is always an ordeal. For me anyway. I don’t much like it, but every once and a while I get the urge to shop. If you’re a plus size gal like me, you know that you can’t just go to any old store and get whatever you want. It took 3 stores for me to find what I needed today. Ugh. And now I want to buy some stuff from lane bryant online. Because they don’t have what I need in any of their stores. I started this post after waiting awhile for the page to load. I think it might work now. So hang on while I spend 20 years trying to place my order.
Forget that. I found what I wanted at amazon and got what I wanted $4 cheaper and free shipping. Amazon treats me well.
Let’s see of I can get a layout posted.
tired and happy June 14, 2008
That’s me. Very tired and totally happy about it. Most of you know already. I am pregnant again. =) I’ve had 3 ultrasounds now and everything is going very well! I’m still only 10.5 weeks along, but I feel great and very positive. Plus, we’ve seen our baby’s heartbeat 3 times! =) Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes – they truly do help!
We’ve had a few bumps along the way, so much of my emotional overload has been due to worry/relief/worry/relief. Well, today I decided to start reading Jenny McCarthy’s book Belly Laughs for a little comic relief. I guess the hormone’s are flyiing because I keep crying. When I took my test I too could not help being greatful that my eggs aren’t rotten. And I’ve been crying about random stuff ever since. I have a graduation party and a birthday party today – this ought to be interesting!
nostalgia June 8, 2008
A few years ago I sorted all my pictures into photoboxes somewhat chronologically. These days I scrap randomly from these boxes, or from what I print from digital. When we first started the moving process I only brought 2 boxes of photos here – my mom’s old photos and a box of my photos from high school and college. Since I haven’t much felt like dealing with digital I have been scrapping from the high school and college photos.
Some of the photos are pretty random. I tried to remember what I had been hearing a few places lately, mostly from Ali Edwards. I tried to concentrate on the stories I want to tell, the thing I want to remember. That’s why I started scrapping in the first place.
For the layout below I used paper from a My Mind’e Eye stack and embellishments from one of my Scarlet Lime kits. Once I started journalling I just couldn’t stop. It really brought back all the fun Tracey and I had back in the day. So, the photos are totally random, but thisis one of my favorite pages ever.
I did this next page Thursday night. I was on my way to get clothes out of the laundry basket and I realized I hadn’t scrapped anything at home in quite some time. When I saw the photo of our fridge I thought about just tossing it. And then I got to think about why even took the picture in the first place and the journalling just flowed. Not the best page or anything, but these are memories worth keeping.
Back in the saddle June 7, 2008
No, not horseback. I haven’t ridden a horse since high school, and I won’t be doing that again for awhile. But I am back in the blogging saddle, I think.
I have been keeping it pretyt low-key for the last few weeks, but there have been a few bright spots. Earlier this week much of my extended family was in town. My cousin Riley graduated from high school Sunday. Monday she and her sisters and brother were in town. The hung out with Corey in the cave all day, then we had a prty to celebrate the graduation and R’s 18th birthday.
Tuesday was more family time as we had Nickapalooza – to celebrate with my cousin Nick. Friends and family came from all over.
Last night I got to spend even more time with family and friends. so today I ha a nice low-key day watching movies, reading, and enjoying the weather. I also made time to photograph some layouts I’ve done recently.
