A few years ago I sorted all my pictures into photoboxes somewhat chronologically. These days I scrap randomly from these boxes, or from what I print from digital. When we first started the moving process I only brought 2 boxes of photos here – my mom’s old photos and a box of my photos from high school and college. Since I haven’t much felt like dealing with digital I have been scrapping from the high school and college photos.
Some of the photos are pretty random. I tried to remember what I had been hearing a few places lately, mostly from Ali Edwards. I tried to concentrate on the stories I want to tell, the thing I want to remember. That’s why I started scrapping in the first place.
For the layout below I used paper from a My Mind’e Eye stack and embellishments from one of my Scarlet Lime kits. Once I started journalling I just couldn’t stop. It really brought back all the fun Tracey and I had back in the day. So, the photos are totally random, but thisis one of my favorite pages ever.
I did this next page Thursday night. I was on my way to get clothes out of the laundry basket and I realized I hadn’t scrapped anything at home in quite some time. When I saw the photo of our fridge I thought about just tossing it. And then I got to think about why even took the picture in the first place and the journalling just flowed. Not the best page or anything, but these are memories worth keeping.

OMG OMG OMG The Shadow!!!! I don’t have pictures of the Shadow. Will you send me a copy of the bigger file? I want to read the journaling. I love the colors, the layout, everything. I got so excited I started to cry. That takes me back.
I like both the layouts, the colours of the paper and embellishments but especially the nostalgiac journalling.
And cool that Tracey reads your blog and can re-live the Shadow memory with you!
As for the fridge magnets, the #1 shaped magnet is the one I remember the best.
That’s the best reason to scrap just for yourself it doesn’t have to be a master piece every time just getting the story down I have to keep reminding myself that others can’t see what’s in my head & to put it down on paper! LoL love old photos they maybe not the best but they bring back the funest memories. Seeya hugya *G*
awesome yet again
i love the idea of scrapping for the memories like that – remember gwyn at SFA used to be so good at that
[...] best friend since high school, Lisa, posted this scrapbook page on her blog [...]
Look at all that journalling. Well done.
I love journalling and stories on the page, love reading it and it feels like you really get to know the artist through their journalling.
