When Becky Higins moved to town I was trying to explain to Corey who she was. I equated her to a rock star, only for scrapbooking. She was the first person I had ever heard of who was famous for scrapping. Since then, of course, I recognize a whole lot more names and faces. Over the years I have come to decide that Tiem Holtz is probably the biggest craft star out there. A friend of mine was telling me about a class she attended several year ago and it sounded like he had groupies and everything. Crafty ladies swooning in the classroom aisles. Over the last year, after becoming a regular reader of Tim’s blog and viewing his artwork I have come to realize that he really deserves all this acclaim. His artwork is incredible, his products are innovative, and his teaching skills – on video, in writing, and in person are phenomenal. The class I took with Tim was THE BEST class I ever took. It was funny, well-paced, and I learned a ton. I left there with a finished product, zero frustration, motivation to make more art – AND the energy to make stuff. I have spent some crafty time every day since the class. I have tried new techniques and everything. I am so excited about a set of ATCs I am making right now. I will post them when I am done. In the meantime, here is my picture with my favorite crafty rock star, and then some photos of my project.
